Nossa Senhora da Conceição viewpoint is located at the top of Espalamaca. From this point, you can see the whole bay of Horta, that since 2012 belongs to the club of the most beautiful bays of the world. You also have views of the hills Monte Queimado, Monte da Guia, Monte Carneiro, Monte das Moças, Cabeço Gordo, the three parishes that form Horta town, positioned in an amphitheatre, part of the northern coast, the islands of Pico, São Jorge and in a clear day, Graciosa. You will also see a monument dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição, formed by an image sculptured in white marble, with about 28,5 metres and built in 1970 to substitute the previous monument that was destroyed by a hurricane.
